An elected Matthew Guy led Liberal Nationals Government will commit $5 million to build a new multipurpose teaching and learning space at Montmorency Primary School.
The funding will allow Montmorency Primary School to plan and build a new STEM and Arts Facility as well as provide a suitable space for Before and After School Care and expand the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program.
The new building will allow for more educational opportunities and enable students have a more hands on approach to learning. Community groups will also be able to hire and utilise the building.
Despite the efforts of the school community, Member for Eltham, Vicki Ward and the Andrews Labor Government has continued to ignore the school’s infrastructure needs.
Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Education, Tim Smith:
“Montmorency Primary School has an outstanding reputation for quality education and deserves new and modern facilities to teach and learn in.
The Liberal Nationals are committed to redeveloping Montmorency Primary School and give local students every chance they need to pursue a quality education.”
Comments attributable to Liberal Candidate for Eltham, Nick McGowan:
“Montmorency is a wonderful school with a strong school community. It faces continuing growth in its numbers due to the quality education it delivers and the popularity of the surrounding suburbs.
The project can wait no longer. I am delighted that the Liberals will support Montmorency Primary and the local community by providing this much needed infrastructure funding.”
